A “Symbol” Quiz – Gitaafunline

Just finished reading the new Dan Brown thriller – “The Lost Symbol”, which was released in September 2009 and has now become the fastest selling adult novel in History!! As usual, Dan Brown intersperses actual incidents and real people with his fantasies in such a way that readers are kept wondering whether some of these theories are true!

This book is a puzzle packed fantasy novel that extensively describes symbols from different religions. Thinking about all these symbols, inspired this quiz on the various symbols in Hinduism.

Go Ahead and test your knowledge on how well you know these “Lost(?) Symbols”! As always do let us know how well you do in the quiz and whether or not you liked it.

    This was interesting but not an easy quiz. It was rather difficult to precisely give the right answers although we have accepted certain things as given. Your quiz provides a new dimension to obtain spiritual knowledge based on symbols. In fact the Letter ॐ is nothing but a symbol which represents GOD and as we know is comprising of A U and M or अ, उ, म each having a complete meaning in itself and is adopted at the beginiing of all Hindu Scriptural recitations . It can be a subject of research how various symbols are associated with certain specific deities and what their meanings are. Any language we are reading is comprising of visual symbols or letters and then a single letter or a combination of letters is said to give rise to meanings which are only explained by our teachers or Guru to be understood by us.
    It is indeed a great mystery and we really need to understand the various secrets assosciated with these symbols.
