I am new learner of Bhagvat Gita. What I understood in Bhagvat Gita that we all should do our duties but we should never get involve in the result of that. Sometimes we do a thing and we did not get the desire result of that and then, we get very sad. What I think that it should not matter to us that what would be the result of my task but what should matter that are we doing our task with the positive approach. As my lord (Krishna ) Says - I am with you, you should never get afraid of any thing, do your duties, Never leave me,

During the course of our life the one thing we forget and that is "What is happiness"? We all have our own definations of happiness. Some people find eternal bliss is wealth, while others just want a healthy loving family. Power gives happiness to some while charity to others.

If all of us can do our duty sleflessly, I think the world will be a better place to live in.

Gita Saar is a very powerful message to us about is what is right and what is worng and it what is out duty in life.

bhagavad geeta sara says the real essence of our being.. not to worry about worldly desires, birth and death cycles..so that you will become free, once the truth is realized. means- free from karma bondage.. then there will not be any influence of karma.. being free is the real purpose.. till than the fruits of karma will be carried.

a karma which makes free from karma is required.. that is continuous selfless service.

Namaskaram, Viji,

I have not studied Gita enough to know whether it says that "we came empty handed and will leave the same way". However, I think the reference here is to material things of this world, which we do NOT bring with us and do NOT take with us. Think of the Pharohs and all the stuff buried with them in the pyramids!

You are certainly right about karma. That is something that comes and goes with us. We are born with our 'praarabdha' and 'vaasanaas' from the endless cycle of birth. Remember the story of the dacoit who became Sage Valmiki. He thought that his wife and children would share a part of a burden of his sins related to looting. When they refused, he realized that he alone is responsible for the consequences of his actions and that led to his transformation from a dacoit to a sage.

However, as Sowmya and Ram have been posting recently, it is the karma with the attitude of doership that attaches to the person. If you offer everything to HIM, kaayena vaacha manasendriye vaa ... then HE takes over the responsibility.

kRiShNaarpaNam astu!
