The relationship between siblings is a cherished one and our epics have stories of many brothers and sisters. While sibling rivalry is inevitable in almost any relationship between brothers and sisters, some of these were more than simple sibling rivalries that ended with the destruction of entire clans!! However, many others are inspirational tales of great love and sacrifice.
Today’s quiz is about famous sisters from stories in Hindu Mythology and is a tribute to such relationships..

In our previous post we described Nature’s prodigies and how spiritual efforts and hard work that is put forth by the Yogis will never be wasted! We noted that when a person does any good deed, he gets a certain amount of credit or puNya.
Once a man was accused of stealing a Mercedes Benz car. After a long court case, finally the man was declared innocent and he was released. The very next day, he came back to court and said that he wanted to sue his lawyer. The judge told him, “Why do you want to sue your lawyer? Only yesterday he won a case for you.”. The man said, “That’s true your honor. But I did not have the money to pay him, so he took the car that I stole”!

The third Sunday in June is normally being celebrated as Father’s day. Hindu mythology is replete with stories of sons who have shown veneration for their fathers not just by giving them a card on father’s day, but by paying respect and giving value for every word that the father says.
As many of us know, in the Ramayana, Lord Rama showed not even a moment’s hesitation to give up all his wealth and the kingdom and leave to the forest, for the sake of his father’s promise.
In honor and as a tribute to such a relationship based on respect and love, today’s Quiz is about famous fathers and sons from various stories in Hindu Mythology.

In our previous post we saw that Krishna gives Arjuna the assurance that if a yogi dies before reaching God, he will not lose his spiritual efforts at all. On the other hand, he will be born again to continue in his path, based on the extent of his unsatisfied desires. We shall see what happens to such yogis in the next slokas.

At last night’s Satsangh, Ram spoke on verses 20-23 of the 17th Chapter of the Bhagavad Gita, which deal with the different types of charity or Dhaana.
Ram said that although the Slokas explicitly talk about charity they also have an underlying and unsaid thread running through them and this is the need for contentment. Charity and the different types of charity that are performed are in fact driven by the level of contentment that each person has. He then asked us whether we were part of “the ninety nine Club”? He continued to explain the ninety nine club through a story.
