Why is Mantara worshipped – Gitaaonline Answers

Mantara (also Kooni in some versions) in the Hindu epic Ramayana, is a servant who convinced Kaikeyi, on the eve of Rama’s coronation that Rama should be exiled and it was her son Bharata who deserved the throne.

Did Kooni persuade Kaikeyi by using fear as a motivator ? She made the queen fear for her future enough to change her king’s wishes. Kaikeyi looked very uncomfortable with what she had to do, but knew that it was the only way her life would not change.

Guruji has asked Satsanghis to contribute their responses to the following question..

In India, many people worship “Mantara” (also known as Kooni / hunchback) of the Ramayana. Why do people worship her?
